Warning signs

The Ghosh family was happy beyond words. Their only daughter has received a marvelous proposal. The would be groom was a millionaire. There was no question of refusing. The groom and his family were settled overseas.

Uneasiness crept in from other side, one after one accidents started to happen after the marriage was initially accepted from both ends. Very bad things started to happen in the family- death, loss to name a few. Feeling really bad about the signs Mrs. Ghosh bluntly refused to further the relationship. There was uproar but her tears won.

To settle their scores most probably, they got their son married to Rishita’s cousin.

Ten years passed by. One day Rishita was returning from her office when someone called out to her. She was surprised to see her cousin standing there.

“When did you came to India Chandrani?”

“Eight years ago. You were lucky didi, you were saved by God.”

“After going there I came to know he already had a mistress there, he took away every thing I had. It was just sheer luck that I could get away from there.”

“He used to hit me. Trying to make me do the dirtiest things, knowing I won’t be able to go anywhere. He used to lock the house from outside. It was in a desolate place, far away in the mountains.”

“One day a man came knocking after his car broke down and I told him every thing. He informed the police and they rescued me and contacted my family.”

Rishita hugged her tightly and thanked God for rescuing both of them.
