Silly girl part 2

Silly girls are supposed to grow up into silly women. Right? So did her. A few decades passed away in her life without changing her point of view on poor people, especially poor children much.

She used to commute from a small town of west Bengal to Kolkata to work. Every day. Every evening when she used to sit in her window seat to watch outside she used to see street urchins huddled on unused tracks. Rats crawling among them. A deep pain used to shot through her heart. Thinking about the plight of these innocent souls.

One day she was sitting at her window seat when she heard a sweet voice, “Didi you want a packet of snacks?” she turned to see a very young and extremely cute looking boy. She did not have the heart to refuse him and told him to give her a packet. He handed her over a packet costing two rupee. She gave him a five rupee coin, he returned her eight rupee and was about to leave. She called him and softly cajoled him; she knew that he will have to submit all his income to the person who gave him those packets to sell.

Thus began a loving relationship. His name was Kishna, whenever he saw her he knew that she will buy at least a packet from him. Soon a lot of other girls too started to buy from him.

Then one day a mishap happened. The bags of a lady was lifted while she was sleeping in her seat. The fingers were certainly pointed at these boys; she heard some snide remarks because that lady has often seen her talking with the child.

This time she ignored her remarks and kept buying things from the child and talking to him. She did not repeated her mistake.
