“Who is that lady?” Titas asked her cousin.
They were standing side by side on his roof, a middle aged lady was feeding a huge battalion of mixed species of creatures- birds, cats, dogs and a cow was visible.
“We call her miao aunty.” He giggled.
“Why?”
“She picks up all strays from the locality and shelters them.”
“Do her pets bother you guys?”
“No. they are so stuffed up with food that they don’t eat any thing they are offered by others.”
“Then you should appreciate her having as your neighbour. Respect her. Her heart is huge. Even if those naive animals sometimes bother you, you can forgive them. You know, animals too have a right to live, eat and in huge towns or metros their lives are miserable.”
“I guess you are right.”

ReplyDeleteHello didi !
ReplyDeleteI'm back after a long time. I'm sorry for not being able to read your posts.
Just wanted to tell you that I've moved to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Its the 1st time in my life that I've been able to meet some Indians in my real life. Its a real pleasure for me to meet some people from Sharmishta's country. But unfortunately I could not find anyone from Calcutta your city. Most of them are from Karala.
So, look sister, I have not forgotten your blog even having been moved thousands of miles away from country.
I've updated my blog after a long please check the latest post at "Life, Nature and Me" in which I've shared a few photographs of the most sacred place of my religion.
Best Wishes
Ibn Hanif
