Farewell to a noble man

Its goodbye time for Mr. Gopal Krishna Gandhi from Kolkata. I believe every true bengali will wish him luck and prosperity through out his life.

People like him remind us that when we are in a strong position we should stretch out our hands to those who are not and help them rise above.

There are very rare politicians of post independent era I admire. Because very rare of them show strong attachment to the country and its people, the thing they are supposed to have in their hearts. Especially its grass root level people.

I should say our silver screen heros and heroines are far more socially aware than our representatives in parliament. Its really a beautiful thing to notice the way they reach out for others. There are so many examples of them Salman Khan, Amir Khan, Shahrukh Khan, Vivek oberoi, Celina Jetley… these came to my mind instantly but I know there are others who are actively participating for the betterment of the country. So many of them. that must be the reason that they are more popular than the representative of people I guess.

That is the only reason I like Rahul Gandhi and Gopal Krishna Gandhi. I should humbly admit that there must be quite a lot more of them who work silently, but they have slipped the media attention, as a result I too am not aware of them. And I should again admit there are other gems too who are taking the country forward on other grounds, but my heroes are those who care for the hapless people of this country because unfortunately they are too many in numbers.

My views are the views of an average indian who is blissfully ignorant of the world of politics, and loves her country and most of its people (truthfully speaking I don’t love all of them). Whose heart goes out for those who have not received a bread crumb of all the luxury which we are habituated of. These two people showed through all their actions that there are still people in political arena who care for the destitutes.

  1. I also believe that we should be thankful to our fellow human beings who work for our service. No matter, even it's trisha who writes many beautiful posts at Agnitrisha blog.

I want to share a hadith of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) :
"He who is not thankful to men is not thankful to Allah."

    thank you, didi.
